Who Should Enroll?

Certification:
Participants who successfully complete the course, including the live-fire qualification, will meet the training requirements for applying for a BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit.
Duration: Approximately 14-16 hours (over 2 days)

Required Equpment:
To participate in the course and complete the training, you must bring the following:
- Government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport)
- Valid BSIS Guard Card (required to attend this course)
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency (required)
Additional Recommended Items:
- Comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for range activities
- Notebook and pen for taking notes during classroom instruction
- Water bottle and any personal snacks
Required Range Equipment:
- Duty-type pistol of known/reliable manufacture; 9mm, .40, .357 Sig, 10mm or .45 ACP ONLY!
- MINIMUM of 3 California-compliant (10-round) magazines for the pistol.
- MIMIMUM of 125 rounds of quality training ammunition of your required caliber.
- Duty holster made specifically for your Duty Pistol. Must be Level II or greater. (BLACKHAWK SERPA NOT ALLOWED)
- Magazine pouch for your California-compliant magazines.
Duty Belt with duty holster and magazine pouch properly affixed.
- Appropriate eye and ear protection
- “Boonie” or ball cap with bill. (No inappropriate/offensive logos, slogans, etc.)
- CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR APPROPRIATE FOR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN AN AUSTERE, OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT. (NO SANDALS/OPEN TOE SHOES, NO SHORTS, NO TANK TOPS.)

Refunds require 72 hours’ notice prior to class. We’re happy to reschedule your registration at no charge with notice given up to the day of class. Cancellations made on the day of class or after will result in forfeiture of course fees.
